If you have just joined or have decided to enter the ClipStar contest you will want to know how it all works. Below is a diagram explaining the different contest stages.
It all starts with a series of 12 qualifying rounds. You can enter a video into any of the 12 qualifying rounds at any time. To win a qualifying round and progress to one of the four Elimination Rounds your video entry must receive enough votes to be in a TOP 5 spot in it’s category by the time the Round ends. You can see how long is left to the end of a round by looking at the countdown clock displayed at the top of every page on the site. At the end of each qualifying round 25 videos progress to Elimination. At the end of 3 consecutive qualifying rounds an Elimination Round begins and lasts for seven days.
During Elimination all votes are ZEROED for the 75 (3 x 25) video entries that are competing. Also the number of votes each video entry has is hidden. For a video to win during elimination it will need to get enough votes to hold the number 1 spot on the leaderboard in its’ category when the elimination round ends. Each day during this period the videos with the least number of votes are eliminated.
At the end of elimination the five videos in the number 1 spot in each category win their uploader’s $2,000 and a place in the Grand Final where they will compete for the $100,000 Grand Prize. For those videos that were eliminated once the winners are announced they are automatically re-entered in the next qualifying round so that they can have another shot at making it through to the next elimination.
So to enter, simply upload your video, select the appropriate contest category (1 of 5) and promote, promote, promote for those all important votes.
