The video clip won’t play, what’s wrong?

Videos on Clipstar are streamed through an Adobe Flash player. For the best viewing experience, we suggest you install the latest version of Adobe Flash after removing any old versions you’ve installed.
Please completely uninstall Flash before reinstalling the latest version.
To uninstall Flash, please follow Adobe’s instructions, listed here:

Once you're done, restart your computer and follow Adobe’s instructions for reinstalling Flash:

If the instructions above don’t resolve the issue please try the following:

Temporarily disable popup-blocking software installed on your computer to test.
Allow Clipstar.com as a trusted site in your Firewall software.
Ensure other applications like QuickTime, iTunes, Real Player, or Windows Media Player aren’t set as the default streaming application, as this might affect the video player.

Firefox usersCertain firefox extensions and add-ons can interfere with video playback.  The most common of these is the realplayer browser record plugin.  If you are still experiencing problems with video playback, please either disable the conflicting plugin, or use an alternative browser such as Safari or Internet Explorer.

What’s the best format to upload for high quality?

There are many formats that can be used for high quality video clips, however, we recommend the following:

640x360 resolution
MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format
MP3 audio
30 frames per second

Resizing your video to these specifications before uploading will help your video clips look better on our site and give you a better chance of fame and fortune.

The maximum file size permitted is 100mb and must be less than 10 minutes in length.

Supported file extensions are .mov .avi .wmv .mpeg .mpg and .m2v

How do I upload a video clip?

Once you’ve finished creating and editing your video clip, made sure it's no longer than 10 minutes, smaller than 100MB, and in an acceptable format, you're ready to upload it.

Click "Upload" in the top right hand corner of any Clipstar page.

Enter as much information about your video as possible, including Title, Description, Tags, and Category. The more information you include, the easier it is for users to find your video clip, and of course it gets entered in to the right category giving you the chance to win the million dollars!

Determine if you want your video set to Public or Private, obviously if you set it to private, you won’t be able to win the competition.  Click the "Continue Uploading" button.

In the next window, click the "Browse" button to browse for the video file. Select the file you want to upload.
Click the "Upload Video" button.
